When old cracked roads are resurfaced with a new asphalt-based top layer, many times the new layer cracks directly over the cracks in the old road. One way to prevent this reflective cracking in the new layer is to make the new layer thicker, but a more practical method is to reinforce the old road at the cracks before applying the new layer.
Learn MoreJFigure 2 and 3 show cracks arising from poor longitudinal joint construction. A reflective crack from an underlying layer (not including joint reflection cracking). An underlying crack can move slightly, causing stress on an overlying layer and this stress can eventually result in a crack that located right on top of the underlying crack. HMA
Learn Morepavements and asphalt wearing courses by protecting surfaces against reflective cracking. The Anti-Reflective Cracking Membrane forms a waterproof surface that reduces the level of moisture absorbed into the base layer while providing high strength reinforcement that spreads loadings on road surfaces showing early signs of cracking.

Many equations can be found in literature and many onsite test can be done.

Learn MoreThe reinforcement of asphalt pavements can produce a threefold increase in the service life of highway pavements by reducing fatigue, reflective, thermal and settlement cracking. With increased fatigue life and extended maintenance intervals, the “whole life cost” of a reinforced pavement is less than an unreinforced one.
Learn MoreAbstract: In order to study the application of wholesale HDPE geonet in the prevention of reflective cracks on pavement, geotechnical nets are used in the prevention and reflection of pavement reflection cracks to explore whether geonets have effective prevention and control effects on pavement reflection cracks. The results show that the use of HDPE geonet for sale to prevent road surface
Learn MoreAramid fibers are 5 times stronger than steel and add strength to asphalt pavement in all directions. 3D Reinforcement. When ACE XP is mixed into asphalt, it disperses over 19 million aramid fibers throughout each ton of mix to provide 3-dimensional reinforcement that increases the asphalts resistance to reflective cracking, rutting and fatigue.

Learn MoreTenCate Mirafi® MPG (PGM-G) and MPG4 (PGM-G4) are the solution for pavement engineers. Asphalt reinforcement by high-modulus glass filaments, combined with the sealing and uniform bonding effect of the nonwoven geotextile, provides effective maintenance and prolongs the working life of road structure.
Learn Morelayers. Reflective cracks also pose safety problems for airfield pavements because of their potential to cause foreign object debris (FOD), and loss of ride quality or smoothness. These reflective cracks have to be maintained to prevent the generation of loose aggregate and increased roughness that can be detrimental to aircraft operations.
